SMA workshop in Warsaw

Once again, the SMA Foundation welcomes you to Poland with joy and emotion!

We are glad that despite the enormous difficulties and dangers, so many of you managed to reach our country.

We want your stay, access to treatment, rehabilitation and specialist knowledge to be the best possible. We also want to create a space for SMA families from Ukraine to get to know each other personally and integrate. We know that at this difficult time it is especially important for you to feel that you are not alone here.

To make it easier for you, we will organize a meeting and specialist workshops dedicated to you as part of the SMA Patient Forum on 2nd–3rd April 2022 in Warsaw.

They will be attended by Chiara Mastella and her team, an experienced specialist from the SAPRE centre in Milan who has been supporting SMA families from many countries for over 30 years. The workshop is aimed primarily at families with young children. Its aim is to identify the most urgent needs of SMA patients and to advise on daily care and rehabilitation. This will allow us to jointly determine the possibility of further support for the SMA Foundation and SAPRE. We would like to remind you that we have received a shipment of valuable articles for SMA patients from SAPRE (specialised feed, rehabilitation equipment and others).

An Polish-Russian-Ukrainian-Italian interpreter, i.e. the irreplaceable Anna Jaworska, will be with us at the workshop. As a member of our team, Anna has constantly been supporting families fleeing Ukraine.

Participation in the meeting is free of charge. If you need support as regards transport or accommodation, please let us know.

The meeting will be held at the Novotel Warszawa Centrum hotel, ul. Marszałkowska 94/98, Warsaw.
